Get hired faster when you include your credentials after your name

Move your hard-earned credentials right next to your name at the top of your resume.

Want to get hired faster? Move your hard-earned credentials right next to your name at the top of your resume, as well as under your Education section. Here's why:

Most recruiters spend 6 seconds or less scanning your resume initially.

Instead of only writing your name, instead write "YOUR NAME, MEd, BA" at the top instead of burying it on page 2. You immediately share that you have the qualifications for the role you are applying to and that you are a high value candidate.

I’ve reviewed thousands of resumes as a former recruiter and hiring manager, and the ones with clear credentials up front were much more likely to get a deeper look. Your certifications and degrees are achievements, not footnotes!

You worked so hard for those letters after your name - be proud of your achievements! Don't make recruiters and employers work hard to find them.

However, there are some exceptions: Only include relevant, meaningful credentials like your university degrees. Your first aid certification probably doesn't belong next to your name unless you're applying for healthcare positions.

What do you think? Do you showcase your credentials at the top of your resume or only at the bottom?

If you need a new resume, you’re in the right place.
